BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana junior wide receiver Kofi Hughes, the former Cathedral standout who caught 35 passes for IU last season, is among three players who will be suspended for one game during the 2012 football season, IU coach Kevin Wilson announced today.
Hughes, who started 10 games last season, was suspended for one game along with cornerback Lawrence Barnett and safety Forisse Hardin for an unspecified violation of team rules. Hardin played as a true freshman last season and started two games.
Barnett started nine games a year ago at cornerback.
The suspensions were some of the story lines that Wilson announced a few hours prior to the start of IU’s preseason camp. In doing so, he revealed IU's 105-man preseason camp roster.
Along with the suspensions, Wilson announced that a total of three others players have left the program. Two of them, safety Shaquille Jefferson and wide receiver Logan Young, left the program “to pursue other opportunities.’’
