The ’Rats have two home games left on the slate — with the chance for one more in the postseason should they make the championship series. First things first, though, as the RiverRats are still in a race for the East Division’s second-half playoff spot. Richmond plays host tonight to Slippery Rock with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch. The RiverRats and Sliders also play at McBride Stadium at 7:05 p.m. Friday. “I’m looking to hopefully send it off with a win, or a couple,” said Richmond pitcher Lance Sheets. Richmond won its last home game, halting Chillicothe 16-15 in a slugfest. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120801/SPORTS/308010015/RiverRats-could-use-home-wins-over-Sliders
