Home » Baseball NewsMONDAY'S MLB PREVIEWSJuly 30, 2012 Eastern Indiana SportsEdinson Volquez will take a crack at snapping his former team's longest winning streak in 13 years when he and the San Diego Padres open a four-game road series against the Cincinnati Reds. The blistering Reds have won 10 straight for the first time since 1999 to open a three-game lead in the National League Central. They are tied for the best record in the majors at 61-40. The Padres took two of three from the Reds earlier this month in San Diego, and they've had a good month, going 14-10 and 9-7 since the All-Star break. It will be Volquez's second shot this month at the Reds, who traded him to San Diego as part of a deal for fellow right-hander Mat Latos in the offseason. Volquez piled up a season-high 10 strikeouts and allowed just one run in seven innings July 5 in San Diego but did not factor in the decision. http://prosportsdaily.sportsdirectinc.com/sports-scores/Baseball-Scores-Matchups.aspx
