Hope’s contract extension, which was announced in December and lasts through the 2016 season, was released Tuesday by the university. It guarantees Hope a minimum salary of $950,000 in 2012 and the figure increases $25,000 each year through the end of the term. Although athletic director Morgan Burke announced Hope’s two-year contract extension before the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl game in Detroit, Hope didn’t sign his contract ?until June 25. If Purdue elects to dismiss Hope after this season, the university would owe him $600,000. The buyout amount decreases by $100,000 each season through 2016.
