For the rising senior left-handed pitcher and outfielder from New Castle, it will be just part of a cross-country journey to wrap up his summer season against some of the best high school baseball players in the country. Ball was recently announced as a member of the East team for the Perfect Game All-American Classic, an annual all-star game at Petco Park in San Diego. He is the only player from Indiana to be selected for this season’s game (former Cowan player Justin O’Conner was an honoree in 2009). The 2012 game will be played at 9 p.m. on Aug. 12 and televised on CBS Sports Network.
