The expected answer: More money. The athletes' answer: More sports science and medical support. The consequence: For many athletes, the road to London ran through Indianapolis. Indianapolis-based USA Track & Field has been using scientific techniques for years. But a partnership with St. Vincent Sports Performance that began after the survey has increased the opportunities. Of 125 athletes on the U.S. track team for the London Olympics, 55 have used St. Vincent services, with 41 traveling to Indianapolis.
