This was the game that kept giving — and going.
Started on Thursday, ended late Friday and with a lengthy rain delay in between, West Virginia finally got its win against Richmond with a big ninth-inning effort.
The Miners pushed six runs across in the top of the ninth, then hung on to win 11-8 at McBride Stadium.
The game was the first of two played Friday night and was the result of a West Virginia protest of Richmond’s 7-5 victory Thursday night over the East Division-leading Miners.
