Home » Baseball NewsSummer League Placements for Return Purdue Baseball PlayersJune 16, 2012 Eastern Indiana SportsTeam & League Links | 2012 Purdue Season Recap WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.-- A number of Purdue baseball players returning for the 2013 season will continuing playing ball throughout the summer, joining teams from Massachusetts to Minnesota for NCAA-sanctioned summer wood bat leagues. Sean McHugh and Stephen Talbott are the furthest from home this summer. McHugh is playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod League, which is generally considered the top summer league in the nation. Talbott is playing for the Willmar Stingers of the Northwoods League. Brett Andrzejewski also returned to the Northwoods League this summer, rejoining the Waterloo Bucks. Kyle Bischoff (Richmond RiverRats), Pat Gannon (Danville Dans) and Kyle Upp (Quincy Gems) are all playing in the Prospect League. Bischoff is back with the RiverRats for another summer. Joe Eichmann, Brandon Krieg, Bennett Oliver and Kyle Wood have remained teammates while all playing for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen of the Midwest Collegiate League. The Oilmen play their home games at Oil City Stadium/Standard Diamonds Park in Whiting, Ind., which is located just a few blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan. Other returning Boilers could join wood bat leagues later this summer.
