PURDUE READY FOR NCAA'S

Catcher Kevin Plawecki and third baseman Cameron Perkins arrived at Purdue three years ago knowing it wasn't a baseball factory.

The Boilermakers had not won a Big Ten title since 1909. Their lone NCAA tournament appearance came in 1987. They played in an aging ballpark that school officials recognized was outdated.
