Purdue's Matt Painter received the second-largest raise of coaches who appeared in the NCAA tournament the past two seasons after considering Missouri last year . . . and his pay is just a little more than Indiana's Tom Crean.
Painter and Crean rank 11th and 12th, respectively, in salary among the 61 NCAA tournament programs analyzed by USA Today. Painter is 11th at $2,325,000 -- up from almost $1.3 million last season -- with a maximum bonus of $901,874, while Crean receives $2,240,000 with a maximum bonus of $685,000. Only Michigan State's Tom Izzo ($3,633,657) and Thad Matta of Ohio State ($3,598,700) make more in the Big Ten.
