OTTAWA SENATORS (30-22-8) AT NEW YORK ISLANDERS (25-25-8), 1 P.M.

Balanced scoring helped the Senators continue to put a
seven-game losing streak behind them. Ottawa will look for a similar effort
this afternoon as it wraps a three-game road trip versus the New York
Islanders.

The Sens went winless over a two-week span that bridged January and February,
but have rebounded with a 3-0-1 spurt to stay in the hunt for the Northeast
Division title. Ottawa is four points back of first-place Boston and is also
just three points behind Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for the conference's
fifth seed.

The club has picked up wins over the first two tests of its road trip,
shutting out Tampa Bay last Tuesday before rolling to a 6-2 triumph the
following night in Sunrise. Six different players scored for the Senators, who
broke open the game with the Panthers thanks to consecutive goals by Kaspars
Daugavins, Bobby Butler and Daniel Alfredsson in the second period.

WASHINGTON CAPITALS (29-24-5) AT CAROLINA HURRICANES (22-26-11), 7:30 P.M.

It has been over a month since the Washington Capitals last
put together a winning streak, but a solid divisional record has kept them in
the hunt in the Southeast standings.

The Caps try to rebound from a weekend loss this evening as they battle a
Carolina Hurricanes club that is running out of time to move up the standings.

Washington visited the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday looking to win two
straight for the first time since a three-game run from Jan. 11-15. Fresh off
a win over the Southeast Division-leading Panthers, the Capitals were dealt a
2-1 loss by the Lightning and now sit two points behind first place.

The Capitals' 63-point total also has them one back of the Maple Leafs and
Jets for the East's eighth spot.

Brooks Laich scored the only goal for Washington, which has lost four of five
and nine of its last 13. Tomas Vokoun ended with 21 saves.
