Home » Football NewsLegendary Coach Speaks on Warken's DepartureMay 20, 2012 By Matt Malatesta of VYPE MAGAZINE - East HoustonNorth Shore head coach David Aymond and his Mustang program are considered elite in the Texas High School football landscape. North Shore has a state championship and a Texas High School record of consecutive regular season wins under Aymond's watch. The school has also produced well over 100 Division I recruits and several NFL athletes over his 18 year career.
He would be the first to say, however, that he has had tremendous support from the Galena Park ISD administration. Most notably, Ed Warken, the district's long time athletic director. Warken has recently taken the Athletic Director position at Cy Fair ISD where he will oversee a ten school district.
"Ed Warken has done a tremendous job for Galena Park ISD and as you know, athletics can often be the face of the school and the district," Aymond said. "He will leave with things far better than when he arrived. He's done so much more outside of the athletic field for this district and it's a tremendous hire for Cy Fair ISD."
