Aaron Clay added to North Carolina Shrine Bowl Roster

Eastern Alamance receiver Aaron Clay has been selected to the North Carolina Shrine Bowl team.  Clay is the fifth Eagle to participate in the last seven years, joining Matt Thompson, Allen Crowder, Lamar Ivey, and Nick Miles as representitives from Eastern Alamance.

The Shrine Bowl is the oldest high school all star game in the country and features the top athletes from North and South Carolina.  This years game marks the 76th anniversary and will be played at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, SC, the home of Wofford University.

Clay leads the Eagles with 25 receptions for 295 yards including seven touchdowns.  He has also ran the ball 11 times for 106 yards and 1 score as well as handling the kickoff and punt return duties for the Eagles where he has ammassed 293 and 146 yards respectively including a punt returned for a touchdown against Western Alamance. 

Joining Aaron Clay from the Mid State 3A conference is Northern Guilford running back TJ Logan.

The game is played to benefit the Shriners hospital for children in Greenville, SC and has raised over $74 million since the innagural game in 1937.
