Home » Baseball NewsNick Monroe fires No Hitter!!May 25, 2012 By Calvin Walters of Eastern Alamance High SchoolEastern Alamance senior Nick Monroe threw a no hitter and Robbie Lanier hit a three run home run to lift the Eagles to a 6-0 victory over Aycock in the first game of the Eastern Regional finals. Monroe, committed to UNCW, has only allowed five hits in 21 innings of work during the playoffs as he gave another masterful outing in the first of the best 2 out of 3 series. Robbie Lanier, also a senior, continued his hot streak at the plate with his second home run in as many games, this time a 3 run shot in the first inning that gave the Eagles all the cushion they would need. Both proved to be the difference makers in the past two games. Eastern Alamance will host Aycock Friday night at 6pm. With a victory the Eagles will advance to the State Championship for the first time in school history.
