Eagles pound the Red Devils

Zack Littell hit the first home run of the 2012 season for the Eastern Alamance Eagles who cruised to a 17-1 victory Wednesday night over the Graham Red Devils. Littell's blast was part of an eight run fourth inning that featured four hits and five walks. The Eagles also scored six runs in the thrid inning on just two hits with the help of four walks and several Red Devil errors.
Jacob Scarlett, JT Kirby, Cody Curry, Robbie Lanier, Robert Layton and Jake Wood all had hits for the Eagles.
The offensive explosion overshadowed a strong pitching performance from starter Robbie Lanier, who went four innings, allowing only one hit, a single in his final inning of work.
Matt Stadler came on in relief in the fifth and final inning.
The Eagles have outscored the Red Devils 24-1 over seven innings this year, including the suspended season opener where the Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
Eastern Alamance will travel to McMichael on Friday night for the first conference road game of the season. The Phoeniz are ranked 7th in the latest Impact Baseball 3A state rankings.
