Senior Mitchell Meyers from the Woodlands High School and high school All-American, Charles Jackson from Klein Collins High School are getting a head start on their college careers.
In fact, cornerback and Nebraska commit Jackson will be hitting the road leaving his Klein Collins roots behind come this May 13th.
“I’m going to be taking classes, getting use to the program, tutoring sessions. Just getting adapted to college,” Jackson said.
As for the lack of summer Jackson is completely content with the idea. “It’s better than being at home all summer. I mean honestly I’d rather play football than go on vacation. Football is my vacation,” Jackson passionately admitted.
Iowa State commit Meyers has a couple of more weeks at home before joining the Big 12 family and rooming with Willis High School’s Quan West.
The star athletes are not wasting time, and are already preparing themselves for the grueling nature of college football; working out with Derrick Jonkins.
“I had a lot of time off after football in January and I decided to come here,” Meyers said. “The first work out was crazy tiring but now we I’m more use to it.”
“I found out about Derrick’s training program two weeks ago,” admitted the future corn husker, “I came that very day and have been coming everyday since.”
When late summer comes and the incoming freshmen get their first look into what it takes to perform at the collegiate level, these two athletes will already be in full stride.
