From Sun-Sentinel / Sharon Robb Deerfield Beach ran the fastest time in the state and second fastest in the nation to win the 4x100-meter relay Thursday night at the Region 3-4A Track and Field Championships.
Anchored by a blistering finish by senior Denard Robinson, the Bucks bettered their state-leading time by running the first sub-41 in the state this year to win in 40.82 seconds.
Only Miller Grove (Ga.) has run faster in the nation in 40.71 and that could fall next Saturday at the FHSAA State 4A Finals if Robinson and his relay teammates Dauntia Dotson, Adrian Witty and Cassius McDowell have anything to say about it.
Just 20 minutes earlier, Robinson and McDowell put on a show in the 100 meters to finish 1-2, and 10 minutes later Robinson continued his super-human efforts by winning the 200.
