16 Bucks Qualify for Regional Swim Meet

On Friday the swimming and diving teams competed in their District Championship meet.  The girls team earned 2^nd place behind Douglas High School.  Christina Smith placed 4^th in the 200 freestyle and 6^th in the 100 breastroke.  Jessie Haus took 5^th in the 200 freestyle and 14^th in the 100 freestyle.  Alyssa Palmer finished 10^th in the 200 freestyle and 5^th in the 500 freestyle.  Megan Sicard placed 8^th in the 200 individual medley and 3^rd in the 500 freestyle.  Alyssa Sicard came in 9^th in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.  Kayla Todd placed 9^th in the 50 freestyle and 11^th in the 100 freestyle.  Katie Gonot finished 5^th in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.  Aleks Alfonso placed 16^th in the 100 freestyle.  Megan Smith was 15^th in the 100 backstroke. 

The boys team captured 3^rd overall behind Douglas and Monarch High Schools.  Ben Casey placed 6^th in the 200 and 500 freestyles.  Chris Moffat finished 7^th in the 200 freestyle and 13^th in the 100 butterfly.  Felipe Casasfranco placed 14^th in the 200 freestyle and 16^th in the 100 freestyle.  Carson Moore came in 6^th in the 200 individual medley and 11^th in the 100 butterfly.  Joey LaNeve placed 9^th in the 200 individual medley and 14^th in the 100 breastroke.  Devan Patel was 6^th in the 50 freestyle and 3^rd in the 100 backstroke.  Wesley Paez placed 10^th in the 50 freestyle.  Mauricio Villa came in 8^th in the 100 butterfly.  Zach Bragg earned 5^th in the 100 freestyle and 6^th in the 100 breastroke.  Connor McLaughlin placed 12^th the 100 freestyle.  Agustin Vallo placed 13^th in the 500 freestyle.  Diego Hormiga placed 14^th in the 100 backstroke.

And we also had 3 individual district champions.  Sydney Smith won the 1-meter diving with 379.80 pts as well as 10^th in the 500 freestyle.  Nikki Jacobs won the 100 backstroke as well as placing 2^nd in the 50 freestyle.  And Joey Cusmano took top honors in the 500 freestyle as well as placing 2^nd in the 200 freestyle.

We have 16 regional qualifiers who will compete in Daytona Beach, FL on Saturday.
