Crockett forestry team represents state at national competition

Members of the David Crockett High School FFA represented the State of Tennessee recently in the National FFA Forestry Contest in Indianapolis.

The team, which includes Crockett students Bryce Bateman, Kareena Jones, Brittany Sparks and Rebekah Wright, placed 11th out of 37 states taking part in the event, a part of the National FFA Convention.

Crockett received a Gold Team Emblem award for being one of the best teams.

The team fought extreme weather conditions during the event, finishing just 120 points behind the first-place team and 38 points from third place in the two-day event.

Bateman placed 11th High Individual in the Nation; Sparks placed 16th High Individual.
