Senior RB Demetrius Hart scored four times in a 35-point second quarter as host Dr. Phillips (4-0, 1-0 in 6A-6) routed previously undefeated Cypress Creek (3-1, 0-1) 35-0. "Offensively, we played one really good quarter of football," Dr. Phillips Coach Dale Salapa said. "We made ourselves a better football team, because we got a lot of snaps to a lot of different players." After a mishandled snap on an attempted punt gave Dr. Phillips the ball on the Bears' 5-yard line, Hart scored from 5 yards on the first play of the second quarter to open the scoring. He scored later in the quarter on a 1-yard run, a 25-pass reception and a 49-yard punt return. Hart had 55 yards rushing on nine carries and caught five passes for 50 yards. Dr. Phillips, No.1 in the Sentinel Super 16, played without WR Kenny Shaw (groin).
