BINGHAMTON, NY - Reese Havens launched a three-run home run to help the B-Mets overcome a four-run deficit and defeat the Erie SeaWolves 6-4 tonight at NYSEG Stadium.

 The SeaWolves drew first blood early against B-Mets starter Brandon Moore. Brandon Douglas extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a triple off the right field fence in the first inning. Justin Henry followed with a sac fly to center to give Erie a 1-0 edge.

Erie tacked on two more in the third. Jamie Johnson led off with a double to right and Justin Henry reached on a walk. Both moved up on Kai Gronauer's seventh passed ball of the year. Bryan Pounds drove both home with a double up the third base line.

On the flipside, the B-Mets failed to generate any offense against Erie starter Brooks Brown. The righty made it through five innings while allowing just one single. He walked four, but escaped harm using two double plays.

The SeaWolves kept the offense going in the sixth. Pounds collected his third hit of the game, ripping a ground-rule double to left to start the inning. He moved to third on Rawley Bishop's ground out and came home on Bryan Holaday's single.

Down by four, Binghamton finally put things together in the sixth. Matt den Dekker led off by walking after an eight-pitch at bat. Juan Lagares roped a single up the middle to kick his hitting streak to 13 games.

Reese Havens was the next batter and dug in for a game-changing at-bat. The second baseman worked the count full and fouled off two more pitches before blasting a three-run shot over the right field fence to put Binghamton on the board and cut the deficit to one. It was Havens' fourth homer of the year.

After the home run, Ryan Robowski took the mound in relief of Brown. Brahiam Maldonado greeted him by dribbling a ground ball up the first base line. Catcher Holaday barehanded the grounder cleanly, but his throw sailed over Bishop's head. Maldonado moved up to second on the catcher's error. Allan Dykstra tied the game with a double off the base of the left field fence.

After Mike Fisher grounded out, Eric Campbell gave Binghamton the lead for good by lining another double to the left field corner. The hit capped the B-Mets' five-hit, five-run inning.

The offensive outburst put Moore in-line for the win. The righty allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out six over six innings. Erik Turgeon took over in the seventh and posted a perfect inning.

Matt den Dekker gave the B-Mets more breathing room by squeaking a solo homer over the left field fence in the seventh. Turgeon worked around a lead-off walk to put up a scoreless eighth and retired the side in order in the ninth. Turgeon collected his team-leading seventh save, while Moore earned his tenth win.

Binghamton (58-71) and Erie wrap up their series tomorrow night at 6:35pm. LHP Robert Carson (3-11, 5.03) will face off against LHP Casey Crosby (8-5, 3.57). The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pre-Game Show begins at 6:20pm on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
