Former Cavalier Star wins prestigious teaching award!!

DeAnne won 23 state and 6 national championships while at Cummings between 1993 and 1996.  The 23 state championships is by far the most in state history by a boy or girl.

She was NCHSAA State Championships MVP 6 times while leading Cummings to 4 state championships.  She was a 4 times All-American and 3 times ACC champion while competing at UNC.  She was 2000 ACC Indoor female MVP.  She was named as one of the top 50 track and field athletes during the first 50 years of the ACC  during the celebration of the ACC's 50th anniversary celebration.
