Cubs Battle Artesians

Tuesday night the 8th grade Lady Cubs hosted the Artesians from Martinsville West.  The Cubs jumped out early and took the first set against the Arties, but fell short the second set.  The third set was very exciting and the Cubs held on to win 15-12 in a very close match.  The scores of the other two sets were 25-20 and 19-25.  The Cubs improved their record to 8-7.  The Lady Cubs had a total of 17 aces.  The Cubs also had a record high of 18 kills!  Jess Admire and Caroline Rogers had two blocks a piece! 


The 7th grade Lady Cubs finished their regular season in an exciting win over the Martinsville West Artesians. The Lady Cubs served a total of 18 aces in two quick games, with scores of 25-14, 25-9. Shelby Taylor led the team with 8 aces, followed by Tana Smythe with 5. Morgan Hash and Vanessa Orton served 2 aces each and Bailey Potter served 1. Morgan Hash had 3 kills; Bailey Potter, Megan Hartkorn, and Tana Smythe each had 1 kill.

Come support the Lady Cubs as they face the Center Grove Central Trojans in the first round of the Johnson County tournament on Thursday, October 14th at 5:30 in the main gym at FCMS.  

The volleyball teams are still collecting canned food items so please bring them to the game to donate.  Come out and support your Lady Cubs!
