The 7th grade Lady Cubs basketball team played one of their best overall games of the season in the opening round of the Mid-State Conference tournament defeating the Arties 50-19.  All 13 players saw significant minutes with a great display of unselfishness and defensive prowess.  Sarah Sullivan led the charge with 10 points including going 6 for 6 at the freethrow line, and nabbing 7 steals.  Emma Jones also had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Maya Elliott played well with many deflections to cause numerous steals, grabbing 2 of her own to go with her 7 points.  Sydney Logsdon also had 7 points to go with her 3 rebounds.  Rilee King chipped in 7 points as well and was a major presence in the passing lanes with 5 steals.  Maddie Rector had 3 points and 5 rebounds.  Morgan Luna, Britney Klotzsche, and Jamey Adams all had 2 points each and combined for 7 rebounds.  Lexi Engelking, Lauren Staples, Abby Booe, and Emma Treibic came in and continued to spark the Lady Cubs on to victory. Congratulations ladies on your great effort!  Good luck tomorrow night in the second round of the tournament against Martinsville West at their place!

Apologies to Maya Elliott for the accidental omission of her efforts in the county championship game.  Maya was a significant boost for the Lady Cubs in the overall team victory.  Again congratulations ladies!
