Jr. Mid-State Conference tournament victory

The 8th Grade Lady Cubs took the floor in the opening round of the Jr. Mid-State Conference tournament yesterday and came away with a victory.  The opponent was Martinsville East.  The ladies played a solid game from start to finish as they held the lead for the entire game.  Defesively, the Lady Cubs played a suffocating defense that forced Martinsville into 32 turnovers.  That defense along with a very nice passing game, lead to a 41-18 victory.

Delanie Hill and Cami Cochrane lead the team in scoring with 12 and 8 respectively.  Six other players chipped in at least one bucket to add to the balanced offensive attack.

Congrats to the girls as they advance to play at Martinsville again to take on West tonight @ 6:45.  Wish them luck!
