CRHS Volleyball Boosters: Fundraising

April 29, 2014

To:  Cardinal Volleyball Families

As you know, volleyball booster parents have been meeting over the winter and have been discussing the role of a Booster Club for the volleyball program.  We are looking at ways to develop a more structured organization to support our Cardinal Volleyball team.  Stay tuned for additional booster meeting dates as well as more news at the beginning of the fall season!

A major role for any booster organization is raising financial resources to assist the program beyond regular school budget allocations.  Funds from booster clubs can help supplement purchases of new uniforms, equipment, etc.  The fall season is especially "heavy" with fund raising as the school year and new activities seasons kick off.  The volleyball booster group has discussed options for fundraising outside of the busy fall season and has been able to coordinate a few activities that can help us raise money throughout the year, rather than in the fall with everyone else.  In addition, athletes and parents have expressed interest in fundraising activities that do not involve selling something.

Following are a few fundraising activities we have or will participate in throughout the year in order to avoid selling in the fall:

- Door hanger/marketing job (see below)
- Concession stand support (various tournaments or events); watch for sign-ups

- Cub Foods grocery bagging (store by CRHS; July 2 & November 25); watch for sign-ups

- Schwan's promotion -- stay tuned for upcoming information from Coach Arcand

Saturday, May 3 - Fund Raising Opportunity/Sign-up Information
The door hanger job is through a marketing group that delivers phone books and other materials.  This particular job includes hanging flyers on doors in neighborhoods in Coon Rapids.  The marketing group pays $.19 for each flyer delivered.  We started with 6 neighborhood routes in Coon Rapids, with a potential of making around $800!  A small group of players and parents gave it a trial run on Friday, April 18.  We'd like to organize a larger group for this Saturday, May 3 to complete the routes.  We are in need of 6 drivers and 12 walkers to work the routes.  We would meet at the school (in the parking lot by the fieldhouse) Saturday morning at 9am to assign the neighborhoods and distribute the material.

Below is a link that will take you to an on-line sign-up for Saturday.  You will need to go in separately to enter each volunteer (i.e. driver or walker) from each household.

Your help is appreciated!
