1A #2 Cowan Defeats 3A #8 Yorktown

Class 1A No. 2 Cowan Blackhawk Softball team rallied from a three-run deficit by exploding for four runs in the fifth and five runs in the sixth inning to beat Class 3A No. 8 Yorktown Tigers 12-7. Shelby Wilcoxon pitched a complete game for the win.  Allie McCreery and Sara Masters each collected two hits and three RBIs for the Blackhawks. Masters hit a three-run homer in the sixth. Fellow Blackhawk Mallory Bruner went 3-for-3 with three runs scored.  The softball team is now 14-1 on the season. The girls will travel to Winchester on Thursday for a 5:00 PM start time.
