The Beacons are coming off of a tough 49-45 loss to Tri-Metro leading St. Croix Lutheran on Tuesday.  The Beacons got off to a fast start, leading by 8 midway through the first half.  Just before intermission, the Crusaders hit two big threes from the left corner to cut the Beacon lead to 1 at the half.  The two teams traded punches in the second half, but with just over 8 minutes left in the game, the Crusaders took the lead for good.  The Beacons scrapped their way into several chances to tie the game, but the shots came up short and the Beacons couldn’t pull off the upset.  Jacquelyn Waedekin led the way for CA with a dozen points and 3 steals.  Kristen Stude had a very strong game with 11 points and 4 assists.  Anika Neuman provided a needed spark off the bench with 9 points.  Megan Fallert pulled down a team-leading 8 rebounds and Clara Paul added 5 boards from her point guard position.

The JV also played a strong St. Croix Lutheran squad.  Sally Paul re-entered the lineup after missing a week due to illness and in her return, she led all scorers with 8 points.  Becca Erdman gave an amazing defensive effort, finishing with 7 steals and grabbing a dozen rebounds.  Abby Miggler led the team with 15 rebounds and chipped in 5 points in the win.
