CA vs. St. Agnes

February 22, 2013
By Amy Bellus of Concordia Academy Girls Basketball

At St. Agnes (60-43- W)

The Beacons battled a low-energy start to this Tri-Metro Tournament game, but eventually put the pedal to the metal and pulled away for a 17-point win.  Early on the Aggies had momentum, out-scrapping and out-rebounding CA.  However, the Beacons rallied behind their full court press, extending their lead to a dozen points before intermission.  In the second half, it was more of the same with the Beacons’ lead ballooning to over 20 points late in the half.  Michala Walther battled through sickness to lead the Beacons in scoring, hitting for 19 points.  Cassandra Adams had a tremendous game as well, adding 14 points and 7 boards, while ninth grader Clara Paul had her best offensive output of the season with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
