CA vs. St. Croix Lutheran

January 22, 2013
By Amy Bellus of Concordia Academy Girls Basketball

At St. Croix Lutheran (49-42-L)

What a game!  The Beacons had chances in this one, but were unable to pull it out against the Crusaders.  St. Croix Lutheran was coming off a big win over Minnehaha Academy and the Beacons played them tough the entire way.  St. Croix Lutheran led the entire way, but the Beacons made a run in the second half and had an opportunity to tie the game with about four minutes left, but couldn’t convert on free throws, shifting momentum back to the Crusaders.  In the end, three Beacons fouled out and St. Croix Lutheran shot 42 free throws to get the Tri-Metro win.  Kayleigh Sellner was the only CA player in double figures with 11 points and 4 rebounds.  Michala Walther chipped in 9 points, 6 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals.  Megan Fallert added 5 points and 6 rebounds, while Jacquelyn Waedekin grabbed 3 steals in the loss.
