CA vs Minneapolis South

January 15, 2013
By Amy Bellus of Concordia Academy Girls Basketball

Vs. Minneapolis South (54-33-W)

The Beacons used stifling defensive pressure to get a big non-conference win over a AAAA school.  CA managed 17 steals and out-rebounded the Tigers in a dominating performance.  Michala Walther hit for 18 points and 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season (she also had 4 steals).  Cassandra Adams chipped in 8 points and had a team-high 6 steals to go along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.  Kayleigh Sellner was outstanding off the bench with a dozen points, 4 boards and 2 steals.  Ninth graders Clara Paul and Ella Beardsley both got the first varsity action of their careers and Beardsley hit her first varsity basket as well.
