The Beacons eked out a 51-48 win over North St. Paul earlier this week. The Beacons once again got down early, trailing by as much as 16 points in the first half. A late first half flurry brought CA back to within 5 at the intermission. The Beacons slowly chipped away at the Polar lead in the second half and found themselves in a position to get a much needed win. Michala Walther hit a big three to bring the Beacons even. Kayleigh Sellner grabbed a key steal and made a great pass in the closing seconds of the game to help seal the win. Three Beacons fouled out of this contest, but the team was able to hit key shots when they needed to. Sophomore guard Michala Walther had a double-double with 19 points to go along with a team-high 11 rebounds, not to mention 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots. Junior guard Jacquelyn Waedekin was in double figures in scoring for the first time this season with a dozen points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Junior forward Megan Fallert chipped in 8 points and 10 boards, while Cassandra Adams had 9 rebounds and 3 steals before they fouled out.
