Concordia's Season Begins

September 8, 2012
By Brian Brown of Concordia Academy Football

The Concordia football team has opened the season with 1 loss and 1 win. As the season progresses the young Beacons are looking to get better. The defense improved from week one to week two. Jake Beasy and Isaac Hernandez played a big role in Concordia’s defense stopping the Redhawk ground attack. Eric Young nabbed an interception and returned it 15 yards before being forced out of bounds. The Beacons’ pass defense will get a major test this week as Breck comes to Concordia. Breck is traditionally has a strong pass game and this year seems to be no different. The Beacons offense finally looked like what the coaching staff envisioned. With Austin Moldenhauer playing QB, Baeza Tensaie rushed and plowed his way for over 200 yards on Friday and Lorin Edmond added over 100 all-purpose yards.
