Home » Cross Country NewsCards Sweep The Winton Woods Invitational!September 12, 2011 By Brendan McDonough of Colerain High School/WeAreColerain.comThe Cardinals went into the Winton Woods Invitational with high expectations and did not disappoint, winning both races and taking home plenty of hardware. The boys team had a dominating first place finish, scoring only 23 points. Senior Erik Tomczweski led the way with a 1st place finish, while 9 other Cardinals finished in the top 21 runners! The girls pulled out an impressive victory as well, beating rival McAuley High School by a single point! Junior Kristen Seiler blew out the competition, winning the race by a full minute over the second place finisher, and junior Rachel Keller had an impressive race as well to help secure the win. Though the times on the muddy and winding course were less than desirable, the results (and resulting trophies) were more than enough to satisfy the team. Next week, the team travels north to the Eaton Invitational, hoping to continue their success.
