Senior Kristen Seiler Commits to Bulter University
Thanks to Coach Mark Bierkan for these kind words
First I would like to say Congratulations Kristen on this great accomplishment….
In the fall of 2009, freshman year, Kristen was a volleyball player. Four years later she is signing a scholarship to run cross country and Track for Butler University. How did this happen? Spring of Kristen’s freshman year she closed out her first track season in high school with a 6th place finish in the mile at the regional meet. This opened a new door in Kristen’s life called “running”. She decided to give the sport of “endurance” and “mental toughness”, also known as cross country a try…. And by “try” I mean she was a natural. Kristen made the 5k distance look easy. In her first season of cross country she helped the girls’ team win a district title! Kirsten found her calling and with every passing season continued to grow as a runner, teammate, and leader. Kristen closed her career of Colerain Cross Country this past fall with her best season yet. She was 1st team all-gmc, 1st team all district, 1st team all city, 1st team all region, 1st team all state, and finished on the podium in 6th place with a time of 18:05 which is the fastest time a Colerain Girls cross country runner has ever run at the state meet. At the Nike Regional Meet Kristen was 29th out of all the best runners from five states. In Kristen’s time here she has racked up 3 all conferences, 3 all districts, 3 all regions, 3 all states and the highest finish for an individual since 2005. If CC had an ESPN top 100 recruits, Kristen and her time of 18:05 would be on it! At our CC Banquet Kristen received the cardinal award for all her hard work, dedication, leadership, and inspiration. Kristen Seiler has made her mark on Colerain High School and will leave as the 4th fastest runner of all time and one of the best ever to put on a Colerain Jersey.
Kristen… I leave you with one last quote. When you step foot on your new campus and run in the new colors never forget where you came from... Represent us well... and remember… “Once a Cardinal… Always a Cardinal”
