Austin Root – Soccer, Cincinnati State University

  • 2 Time 1st Team All-GMC selection
  • Also selected to the All-GMC 2nd team as a Sophomore
  • Participated in Olympic Development Program
  • Holds a 3.1 GPA & plans to major in Physical Therapy

Gabby Hogel – Softball, Spalding University

  • Led the Cardinals in fielding % in 2012 & was 2nd in hitting despite missing time due to injury
  • Expected to be a top hitter for the Cardinals in 2013
  • Member of Cincy Static summer team with several with several game & tournament MVP awards
  • Won the 2010 Cardinal Award as a member of the Golf team
  • Holds a 3.8 GPA & will study Nursing

Ben Spitznagel – Baseball, Dakota Wesleyan University

  • 3 Time Academic Achievement Award Winner
  • Sat out 2012 season due to injury, batted over .500 as a JV player in 2011
  • Member of the Cincinnati Riverbats traveling team
  • Member of the Champions Baseball All-Star team
  • Holds a 3.3 GPA & plans to major in Business

Kristen Seiler-Cross Country, Butler University

        *  3 time ALL Ohio in cross country

         * All District,All Region, All GMC in track

        *  Fastest time ever run by a Lady Cardinal at State croos country meet

Dylan Wiesman – Offensive Line, University of Tennessee Volunteers

Widely regarded as one of the state’s best offensive linemen, Wiesman was a 3 year varsity starter at Colerain.  A 2-time All-GMC selection, Dylan helped anchor an offensive line that helped the Cardinals average 333 yards rushing and 42 points a game in 2012.  He is a 2012 1st team All-Ohio & All-Southwest District selection, and will play in the Ohio North/South All-Star Game this spring.

Alfred Ramsby – Quarterback, Georgia Southern Eagles

A dual-threat QB, Ramsby lead the Cardinal attack in 2012 by running and passing for over 1500 yards each, and accounting for 34 touchdown’s (16 passing/18 rushing).  Ramsby was named 1st Team All-GMC, was the Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year, The Cincinnati Enquirer Co-Player of the Year, and 1st team All-Ohio.  Ramsby will represent Colerain in the North/South All-Star Game this spring before attending Georgia Southern, where he will lead their option offense.

Chris Davis – Running Back, Indiana State Sycamores

One of a select few players to ever start for the Cardinals as a freshman, Chris Davis proved to be one of the most versatile and talented athletes in Colerain Football history.  Coming back from a devastating knee injury suffered during the 2011 season, Davis led the Cardinals with 35 receptions for over 600 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also rushing for more than 400 yards and 8 more scores in 2012.  In 35 games as a Cardinal Davis amassed 2,718 yards of offense and scored 28 touchdowns.  He is a two time 1st Team All-GMC selection.

DeJuan Lang – Defensive Back, Indiana State Sycamores

As a 2 year starter at cornerback, Lang helped lead a defense that topped the GMC in 2011 & 2012.  As a senior he intercepted 5 passes, returning 1 for a touchdown, recovered 2 fumbles, and averaged nearly 35 yards a return on kickoffs.  He finishes his career with 9 total interceptions, a sack, & 2 fumble recoveries.  Lang was a 1st team All-GMC selection in 2012 and will play in the North/South All-Star Game.

Lonnell Brown – Defensive Back/Athlete, Indiana State Sycamores

As a first year player for the Cardinals, Brown quickly showed himself to be an explosive playmaker.  Starting at Strong Safety, Brown intercepted 3 passes returning them for a 77 yard touchdown, 98 yard touchdown, and another for 45 yards.  He also averaged 34 yards per kick return in 2012.  Lonnell was selected 1st team All-GMC in 2012.

Rudy Mirizzi – Linebacker, Urbana Blue Knights

After sitting out the 2011 season due to injury, Mirizzi started all 13 games for the Cardinals in 2012.  Mirizzi earned 2nd team All-GMC honors while helping to lead a Cardinal defense that topped the conference in both scoring and yards allowed.  A top baseball player for Colerain, he is also considering playing baseball for the Blue Knights.

Tevin Ware – Running Back, William Penn Statesmen

Although Ware split time with several very talented running backs during his career at Colerain, he took advantage of his opportunities when they came about.  Ware rushed for 4 touchdowns, all of which came in big play fashion, with scoring runs of 26, 44, 61, and 80 yards respectively.  His best performance came in a victory against Fairfield in which he rushed 9 times for 131 yards and a score.
