White Oak vs Colerain...Middle School Basketball 2013

 The Colerain Middle School and White Oak Middle School basketball teams faced off today in what I call "a Backyard Battle" Four games were played between these two schools whose student athletes will play together, in a couple of years, at Colerain High School.

 The 7th grade girls started off the day with Colerain winning big 34-8. The 8th grade girls were next. Led by Kelsy Hoelmers 15pts, the Lady Warriors downed the Lady Cards 28-21 bringing the games to a 1-1 tie.

 Then it was the boys turn. Scoring 16pts Javon Hicks was the star of the game as the White Oak 7th grade boys held off the Cards 43-36. Cards were led by Gunner Leyendeckers 11pts. 

 In the final contest of the day the 8th graders hit the floor. Colerain defeated White Oak 47-37. Colerains Kyle Bolden was the top scorer of the day with 19pts. Nate Lorenz paced White Oak with 10pts.

  After four games the two schools were 2-2 for the day. No one likes a tie but after spending a Saturday at Colerain High School watching these "Future Cardinals" I think we all won.
