Lady Cards Fall at Buzzer in Double OT Thriller

Mount Healthy’s Netra Owensby’s 20 foot fall away 3 point bank shot at the buzzer gave the Owls a dramatic come from behind 61-60 victory over the Lady Cardinals in double overtime last night at Colerain High School.

Colerain twice rallied from 9 point deficits in the 2^nd half to force OT but was unable to hold 5 point leads in each of the two overtime periods. Colerain out rebounded the smaller Owls 60-36 for the game but had that advantage offset by turning the ball over 25 times in the game. The young Cardinals shot just 31.9% for the game and were plagued by foul trouble most of the night.

Bright spots for Colerain included Freshman Center Ciera Phillips contributing a double-double in her varsity debut with 10 points and 16 rebounds and Senior Courtney Merritt and Junior Erin Sherrer pitching in 12 and 11 points respectively.

Colerain next plays at Oak Hills this Saturday at 2pm.
