Home » Cross Country NewsDistrict Championship RecapOctober 21, 2012 By Brendan McDonough of Colerain High School/WeAreColerain.comThe Cardinals ran their hardest, but fell short of qualifying for Regionals as a team this weekend at the District Championships at Mason. The girls team finished 5th overall, 18 points behind 4th place and a team berth to Troy. The boys, meanwhile, finished 6th as a team, defeating teams that had beaten them the previous week at the GMC Championships. Two Cardinals did managed to qualify to Regionals as individuals. Junior Nate Sizemore finished 13th overall in a personal best time of 16:25, placing on the all-District team for the second year in a row. Meanwhile, senior Kristen Seiler finished 2nd overall in the race with a personal best time of 18:10, making her the 4th fastest runner in school history! Kristen and Nate will head to Troy next week, where Kristen will look to qualify to the State Championships for the third year in a row while Nate attempts to punch his first ticket to the state meet.
