Home » Cross Country NewsCards Return to Form!September 16, 2012 By Brendan McDonough of Colerain High School/WeAreColerain.comFinally at full strength with their team mostly healthy and ready to race, the Cardinals ran explosive times at the Eaton Invitational. The boys team came away from the meet with their first victory of the season, scoring just 38 points as nearly every varsity runner ran a season best time! Junior Nate Sizemore came away with a second place finish, running a time of 16:42. Other standouts include sophomore Marcus Price, who broke 17 minutes for the second time in his career as he finished 3rd overall, as well as sophomore Dan Snyder, who broke the 18 minute barrier for the first time in his career for a time of 17:29 and a 10th place finish. In addition, the boys reserve team won their race as well, with Rodney Allen, James Vinson, and Josh Denny taking the top three spots in their race! The girls also improved from the past week, finishing 2nd as a team. Senior Kristen Seiler destroyed all her competition in a first place effort while running a time of 18:34, a season best time and one that puts her among the top runners in the state! Senior Rachel Keller also turned in a tough performance, finishing 8th in a time of 20:29, her first time under 21 minutes this season. Next week, the Cardinals travel north to Culver, IN to race for one of the most competitive races of the season.
