Home » Cross Country NewsSmaller Team, but Cards Still Find SuccessSeptember 9, 2012 By Brendan McDonough of Colerain High School/WeAreColerain.comThe Cardinals faced a bit of a down week, with several runners taking the ACT and others resting due to injuries, but the team raced on none the less. The girl's squad finished 4th as a team, despite missing three of their top four runners. Sophomore Hannah Tobler was the team's top runner in this race, finishing 6th in a time of 21:14. Junior Christina Haffey also continued to impress in her first cross country season, finishing 12th overall as the team's second runner. The boys were also missing one of their top three runners, but pulled out a runner-up appearance nonetheless. Junior Nate Sizemore finished 4th overall in a time of 17:11 to lead the Cards. A trio of sophomores in Daniel Snyder, Brad Booth, and Chris Rioux also turned in quality performances for the boys. Next week, the team will be back in full force to compete at the Eaton Invitational.
