Home » Cross Country NewsCards Struggle, But Stand Tall!September 2, 2012 By Brendan McDonough of Colerain High School/WeAreColerain.comAfter fighting through their most difficult week of training for the season, the cross country squads managed to make the most of their situation, gutting out tough races at the Greenville Treaty City Invitational. The girl's team finished 3rd overall as a team, lead by a individual victory from senior Kristen Seiler, winning by .02 seconds in a time of 19:02! Junior Kelly White also improved over her performance last week, finishing 27th overall with a time of 21:51. The boys team finished 6th overall amid a pack of competitive teams. Senior Calvin Hester provided a spark of energy for the team, finishing 20th overall in a time of 17:27 in just his second career race. Other standout performers included sophomore Chris Rioux and junior Josh Denny, who competed well in the reserve race, as well as sophomore Emily Schneider, who improved her personal best time by several minutes to be a top reserve performer. Next week, the teams stay closer to home to compete at the Princeton Invitational.
