Cogs drop thriller

Genoa-Kingston lost to Burlington Central, 1-0, when the Rockets converted a penalty kick in the second half.

"Some days you're going to get the call and some days you're not," G-K coach Randy Tate said. "In a close game you have to know where you're at on the field and use good judgement.

"Overall, I thought we played great defense and limited their offense. On offense we just had a hard time getting any good clean looks at goal. [Burlington Central] did a good job of clogging up the middle. We had some opportunities, but they just weren't finished or their keeper made a nice save."

The Cogs are 9-3-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the Big Northern Conference East
