Genoa-Kingston High School



1. Kaneland: Lauren Zick once again led the way, with second-place finishes in the 400 (58.4) and long jump (16-2) and a third in the 200 (26.4), as the Knights finished third in the 15-team Holmes Invitational.
2. Sycamore: Jessica Pluhm won the discus (110-3) and Sarah Grant won the shot put (32-6) to lead the way for the Spartans, but Sycamore lost to Kaneland, 83-58, without Lake Kwaza, who rested Tuesday for precautionary reasons.
3. DeKalb: Alexandra Reed finished fourth in the long jump (5-0) as the Barbs mustered 13 points in the Holmes Invitational, finishing 12th.
4. Genoa-Kingston: The Cogs finished fifth in the 10-team Stillman Invite on April 7, with Danielle Neisendorf finishing second in the 400 with a time of 1:04.21.
5. Indian Creek: Ally Bretzing won the 100 (14.32) and the 300 hurdles (57.54) at Woodstock North.
6. Hinckley-Big Rock: As usual, Kaitlin Phillips won the 100 (13.4) in Tuesday's four-team meet at Sandwich. Phillips, though, also competed in the shot put for the first time and won with a throw of 30-4.
