G-K wins opener

Genoa-Kingston High SchoolGenoa-Kingston won its season-opening game, 35-28, over Round Lake as part of the Harvard Tournament. Tori Hensely had 11 points to lead the Cogs while Kate Thurlby recorded 10 points for G-K. Danielle Engel had six points in the win.
“It was a rough game,” G-K coach Kyle Henkel said. “Shooting wasn’t going down for us, but we stuck it out on defense.”
G-K plays Rockford East tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Harva
