Home » Football NewsWeek 2 Prep Football Preview CapsulesAugust 31, 2012 Genoa-Kingston High SchoolROCKFORD LUTHERAN (1-0) at GENOA-KINGSTON (0-1) Game time: 7 p.m. Friday Last meeting: Genoa-Kingston 48, Rockford Lutheran 14, in Week 5 of the 2010 season Scouting the Crusaders: Lutheran has been a pretty bad program lately, averaging only one win over the past six seasons. Playing in the Big Northern Conference has not been kind to the Crusaders. Lutheran was able to get a win in Week 1, beating Walther Lutheran, 71-34. The Crusaders run a spread offense, and will throw the ball and show a lot of zone-read. G-K coach Travis Frederick said the team has a lot of athletes. Keys to victory: Run the ball, control the clock and don’t turn the ball over. The Cogs were fine in the first two areas last week in a loss to St. Edward, but turned the ball over four times. G-K ran the ball well a week ago, gaining 246 yards while quarterback Adam Price was efficient throwing the ball.
