Home » Girls' Soccer NewsRylko makes a moveApril 26, 2012 Genoa-Kingston High SchoolGenoa-Kingston has stayed steady in the face of multiple injuries. The Cogs got back to .500 Tuesday with a 7-0 blowout of North Boone, and G-K coach Randy Tate said senior Ariel Rylko’s move to center midfield to replace the injured Julia Mendoza has helped that significantly. “She’s been doing pretty good,” Tate said. “We had to move her to the center midfield since Julia’s been out. When we had her on the outside she was kind of creeping toward the middle anyway, so we just thought, well, we’re just going to put her there.” Tate said he likes the combination of Rylko and freshman Ashley Grimm in the center. Grimm scored twice against North Boone and Rylko had a goal and two assists. “They both handle the ball pretty good and can distribute,” Tate said.
