Home » Girls' Soccer NewsCogs see mixed resultsApril 19, 2012 Genoa-Kingston High SchoolGenoa-Kingston coach Randy Tate said the Cogs have been playing some of their best soccer of the season, but a pair of injuries suffered against Marengo might cause a setback. Forward Shannon Schumacher and defender Julia Mendoza are questionable with knee injuries and their status will be determined later this week. “That’s two bad hits with pretty important players,” Tate said. Tate said he has liked the way his defense has played over the past few weeks, and the Cogs have stayed competitive with improved offensive play. “We’re doing the right things. We’re making the right passes,” Tate said. “We’re connecting on the end of the crosses. We haven’t always scored on them, but [Tuesday] we had two real nice plays. I think if we can keep doing that, it will really help us.”
