Cogs look for scorers

February 1, 2012
Genoa-Kingston High School

Scoring only 30 points in two of its past five games entering Tuesday, Genoa-Kingston is looking for a group that can score consistently.

“We’ve got to try and find somebody who can put the ball in the hole,” coach Corey Jenkins said. “Somebody’s got to step up. We don’t have that go-to guy like we’ve had in the past. We’ve got to do it together out there and help one another. That’s going to be the primary focus over the final two weeks.”

Jenkins said opposing teams are playing pretty good defense and when the Cogs do get open looks, they aren’t falling.

“They’re not falling and it’s just execution,” Jenkins said. “We get caught watching. Guys that don’t have the ball get caught watching out there and we don’t have constant movement in our sets.”
