The Coal City girls basketball team led Reed-Custer 22-10 at half-time Wednesday in the regional semi-finals of the Plano Regional.

Reed-Custer made a run in the second half but the Lady Coalers prevailed 34-27.

"I thought we had spots in the game where we played well and spots where we played poorly. We did enough to get the win tonight, but we have to play much better tomorrow if we want to get the win," said head coach Brad Schmitt.

They will face the top seed Seneca in the regional final tonight at 7:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Seneca Sectional.

Brittany Halliday led the offense with 14 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists.

Emily Halliday had eight points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists and Rachel Halloran scored six points.

Rachel Burroughs scored four points and Tabitha Dabulskis added two points and five rebounds.
